DoD USDA Family Resilience Conference
Cathann Kress, senior policy analyst and program lead for Military Community and Family Policy at the U.S. Department of
Defense, and Lisa Lauxman, Director, Division of Youth and 4-H in the National Institute of Food and Agriculture at the
U.S. Department of Agriculture welcomed over 1800 people to the 2011 Forging the Partnership: DoD/USDA Family Resilience
Conference in Chicago during the last week of April.
And the partnership was forged, as documented in the
Proclamation in recognition of the Department of Defense / Department of Agriculture Extension-Military Partnership, a
letter of greeting and recognition from Michelle Obama,
and the launching of the Military Families Learning Network to connect
and continue the conversations and collaborations around child care, personal finance, families, network literacy, and more.
